Quality German Shepherd Puppies
At the Sharyleigh German Shepherd kennel, we focus on quality puppies and raise them in a family environment. We use top males and females to produce a rounded, healthy pup with excellent character and confidence.
Every puppy is different, as are you. When you visit our pups we get to know you and what you are looking for, guaranteeing you your special puppy. Our standards are very high - our females are some of the top German Shepherds in South Africa. We use top producing sires. We have our hips and elbows x-rayed to reduce risks of dysplasia.
We are just a phone call away if there are any worries and advice and support on training at GSD Federation clubs.
Our kennel has been registered with the German Shepherd Dog Federation of South Africa since 1996. We are a small suburban kennel, and our German Shepherds are first and foremost our pets - part of our family.

Our German Shepherd Dogs are also our hobby - we show and train them in obedience and protection work, and breed to produce better. Our focus is on quality - German Shepherds with good looks, good health and good characters. We do not have many litters a year, and considering this our results are quite outstanding. We have obtained the prestigious Diamond Breeders Medal and at Nationals 2018 were the winners of the Kennel group, with a 5-5 combination, and Best local bred dog of the year, Qarma of Sharyleigh. In 2019 we won the Best Kennel Group again, with a 5-5 combination, the most difficult to achieve.

As family dogs, our German Shepherds spend days in the garden and evenings inside with us. They do not live in concrete runs. Our puppies are raised by us, not staff, and always with family involvement. We know each one's character, are able to deal with any problems immediately to produce well rounded, healthy, confident puppies.

Our introduction to German Shepherd Dogs was through Sabre (Exkalibur v Silberschatten) and Shani (Schlitza of Zagroshill). After showing a little and coming last (yes), we had a litter to a German import, and the bug bit. We then decided to import. First the best dog ever, Xado van de Mauritshoek. Then Zita van de Mauritshoek, an amazing female. We purchased Xado's best daughter in SA, Quanta of Nasrudin, and together with Zita, they have formed the backbone of our kennel.

Our last import was Hunter von Batu. A son of our all time favourite, Double German Sieger, Vegas du Haut Mansard. Hunter produced some awesome sons and daughters, 8 South African VAs, who in turn are producing winners. Two earned the highest positions possible: Sieger, Matrix of Kinneret, and our beauty, Siegerin, Electra of Sharyleigh. He was South Africa's top producing German Shepherd Dog from 2011-2015, and was still being represented in the ring in 2019. Sharyleigh had a VA1 female, Electra, and 2 VA males, King and Uther, produced by Hunter. He has put us on the show map, and has given our and other's kennel, sons and daughters to be incredibly proud of. Our other VA dogs are Qarma, a double vice Siegerin daughter of Electra and Ceiteag, daughter of imported Hill v Farbenspiel daughter, Xavy vd Mauritshoek.
